Compie gli studi d’arte al Royal College of Art di Londra. Grazie a una borsa di studio, nel 1955, si reca a Roma e da allora divide la sua vita tra l’Italia e l’Inghilterra. Nei primi anni Sessanta fa parte della Pop art inglese e per oltre quarant’anni il suo lavoro si svolge attraverso grandi costruzioni e rilievi, dipinti e sculture, grafiche e multipli. Dopo numerose personali in tutta Europa, espone regolarmente allo Studio Marconi di Milano e ha una serie di importanti retrospettive. Vive e lavora tra Londra e Venezia.

 

He studied at the Royal College of Art in London where he won the Rome Prize in 1955. Since then he divides his time between Italy and France. In the early Sixties he was associated with the Bristish Pop Art and for more than forty years he has been making and exhibiting paintings, constructions, reliefs, prints and multiples. After a number of solo shows all over Europe, he regularly exhibited at the Studio Marconi in Milan and several retrospectives of his work took place over the years. Tilson lives and works in London and Venice.
